I wish Canadians were more patriotic!

I LOVE being Canadian!  And I love Canada Day.  I always make plans to do something for Canada Day.  My kids get new t-shirts every year to wear for whatever Canada Day celebrations we are attneding and I don my red and white as well.  But it is that one day I almost wish we had a little more of the American passion.  The 4th of July is insanely over the top for many Americans with HUGE concerts and picnics and parties.  Many Canadians do something but many don't.  Is that just the Canadian way?  Are we more easy going than Americans?  One thing I want to do on my bucket list is to be invited to a REALLY big southern United States 4th of July.  I want to see how they do it up.  Then I will take that spirit and celebrate being Canadian.  This year I think I will go all out for Canada Day.  It is less than a month away, still loads of time to plan!  You in?  Let's show the Americans how patriotic us Canadians can be!
