Carrie Underwood makes sure that she eats the same meal before every show. She has a very set routine that includes eating dinner at 5pm. Her dinner consists of two scrambled eggs, half of an avocado, lots of veggies including cherry tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers with hummus piled on top. Carrie says there are no exceptions when it comes to her pre-show meal.
Marty Stuart is ready to release Altitude, his first new album in six years, on May 19. The songs featured were inspired by his time on the road with The Byrds co-founding members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman in 2018, as they marked the 50th anniversary of their 1968 album Sweetheart of the Rodeo. "I've always loved songs that feel like old friends but still sound new and fresh," Marty explains. "The beautiful thing about country music is that the blueprint Jimmie Rodgers laid down - rambling, gambling, sin, redemption, Heaven, Hell - it's all just as relevant now as it ever was. It's the human condition, and if you're honest about it and you've got a real band around you, you can make something that's uniquely yours and stands the test of time."
Breland will be hosting his second annual Breland & Friends benefit concert April 4 at the Ryman Auditorium. The event will support Nashville's Oasis Center, an organization that helps at-risk youth in Middle Tennessee. Alana Springsteen, Ashley Cooke, Danielle Bradbery, Gary Levox, Ingrid Andress, Nate Smith and Tenille Townes are just some of the artists performing. Last year's Breland & Friends concert raised more than $140,000.
Tanya Tucker, Lainey Wilson and Hardy are just some of the acts added to the star-studded tribute for Leslie Jordan later this month. Reportin' For Duty: A Tribute to Leslie Jordan is being held February 18 at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House. Other performers include Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde, Jelly Roll and Ernest. Leslie was best known for his character Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace. He had close friendships with artists within the country genre and released his debut gospel album, Company's Comin', in 2021. Leslie died October 24, 2022 at the age of 67. All proceeds raised from the tribute concert will be donated to EB Research Partnership. He worked very closely with the organization over the years.
Ashley McBryde is selling t-shirts inspired by the strapless black gown she wore at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. She announced the new shirt in a social media post that included her face photoshopped into a parody bra advertisement. The t-shirt, which is a unisex black 100% cotton tee, features the words "Ashley, put your bra on," which is a nod to the lyrics of her song, "Brenda, Put Your Bra On." Ashley won her first Grammy on Sunday night when her song with Carly Pearce, "Never Wanted To Be That Girl," was named Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Michael Ray is planning some tour dates this year and he's working on new music. He shared the news with his fans in a post on social media. His tour will start this month and runs through the spring and into the summer. The tour dates include returning to cities that welcomed him early in his career. Michael has also been working on new music with producer Michael Knox. His last full-length album, Amos, was released in June 2018.
Shania Twain was rocking the Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday night with her black-and-white polka dot outfit and blazing red hair. In an interview at the show, she said that she's having fun these days and "re-enjoying fashion and playing with colour." Her new album, Queen of Me, is about freedom, joy and celebrating every stage of life. As for her red hair, Shania says that it just went so well with her outfit. "That's part of the reason why the red hair, because I thought, 'You know, I'm gonna be wearing black and white, so I want to pop on the top," she explains. Shania was a presenter at the ceremony, handing out the award for Best Country Album.
Trace Adkins announced that his headlining Somewhere In America Tour will kick off this month. It will continue until mid-October with a few dates booked each month. Trace's The Way I Wanna Go Tour wrapped up last July. He's been keeping busy with television engagements. He had a starring role in Monarch, which was cancelled after 1 season.
