Keith Urban is expressing his concerns about the country music community being "ripped apart" during a time when people should be coming together. "It feels like a tribe, and we're really a tight family, and we all need each other," Keith said in a recent interview. "At the end of the day, we've all got something to offer each other, and that communal fabric is really important to maintain." He didn't get into specifics about what he believes is causing the division, but feels that it's important to have the support of friends and family during hard times. "All I know is my life has, like a lot of people's lives, contrasted from a lot of self-destruction and struggle in my life that I was able to get through with a strong faith and strong support of friends and family," he says. "That contrast gives me real gratitude for what I get to do musically, as a husband, as a father, as a part of this community, part of the tribe of us artists here," he adds.
Kelsea Ballerini's new "dream home" may be familiar to some people. It once belonged to Kacey Musgraves, who featured it in a magazine photo spread. She sold the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home to Kelsea in a private deal. Kacey bought the house in 2020. Kelsea showed her fans a picture of her settling into the house in a post on Instagram from November 16th.
Shania Twain is releasing a new deluxe edition of her 1997 album Come On Over. It will include some duet versions of songs that she has performed live over the past few years. One of them is a live performance of "You're Still The One" that she performed with Elton John in 1999. There is also at 2017 duet with Nick Jonas on "Party For Two," plus another version of "You're Still The One," this time featuring Chris Martin. Shania celebrated the 25th anniversary of Come On Over this year.
The Reklaws Stuart Walker and his girlfriend Lindsay Couture are engaged. The couple shared the news with a post on Instagram, writing, "here's to forever and then some," and sharing pictures of the proposal. In a statement to ET Canada, the couple said, "We've held each other through beautiful moments as well as hard times in the past two years, and feel like we can take on anything now. We found each other at the perfect time and knew right away we were soulmates, and now get to share with the world the endless love we have."
Charles Kelley has shared a new song he wrote called "As Far As You Could," which he says is his "goodbye letter to alcohol." He wrote the song with bandmate Dave Haywood and Jimmy Robbins. Charles ends the song admitting he never thought he could conquer his addiction, but he's the one standing victorious in this battle. Several country artists commented on the audio file with messages of support. His addiction to alcohol became public this year when Lady A announced they would be postponing their Request Line Tour to support Charles.
Thomas Rhett is celebrating his 20th number one single in a decade. He hit this milestone when "Half of Me" featuring Riley Green topped both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts this week. "20 No. Ones in 10 years is mind-blowing," Thomas said in a statement. "The support since 2012 by radio, songwriters, my team and all the fans has been incredible. This is insane and I'm so grateful for this wild ride! I can't wait to see what the next decade has in store."
Morgan Wallen is helping thousands of families in need this Thanksgiving. He has teamed up with a Tennessee-based non-profit organization, Greater Good Music, to provide Thanksgiving meals to 2,000 families. They shared a picture on Instagram that showed a long line of cars waiting to pick up pre-made Thanksgiving meals. Greater Good Music has also distributed food through local high schools and food pantries in various parts of Tennessee in partnership with Morgan.
Tyler Hubbard is scheduled to play the halftime show at the Patriots vs. Vikings game on Thursday. The game airs live on NBC starting at 7:20pm. "I can't wait to be on the field entertaining the crowd on Thanksgiving Day," Tyler says in a statement. "What a special opportunity, and I appreciate the Vikings and the NFL for inviting me to be part of this Thanksgiving tradition. I have so much to be thankful for this year, and this performance is a great way to celebrate." Tyler is getting ready to release his full-length solo debut album on January 27th.
