Country music will continue to take center stage on American Idol as two of the genre’s biggest stars, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood, are confirmed to return as judges for the show’s 2026 season. They’ll once again be joined by music icon Lionel Richie, making it a full return of the Season 23 judging panel.
Country star Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are gearing up for another round of diapers and sleepless nights, they’re expecting baby number five!
The couple shared the exciting news with fans via Instagram, where they stood together while Rhett cleverly reworked lyrics from his 2017 hit "Life Changes" to fit the moment. The updated verse revealed the big surprise: "Now Lauren's showing, got one on the way... five under 10." The singer paused, looked at his wife, then added, “Hey what can I say? Yeah, life changes.”
The caption read: "Here we go again! We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good."
Thomas and Lauren are already proud parents to four daughters. Willa Gray (9), Ada James (8), Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3). And judging by Rhett’s words, the girls are thrilled to welcome another sibling.
The couple, who’ve known each other since elementary school, have been open about the joys and chaos of raising a growing family. Thomas has often described his life as a dad as “beautiful chaos” and he means that in the best way.
With baby number five on the way, it’s clear Thomas Rhett's world is about to get a little louder and a lot more love filled.
