Brooks & Dunn announced the Country Music Hall of Fame class of 2024 inductees yesterday. Toby Keith, John Anderson and James Burton will all be inducted later this year. James Burton, a guitar player known as the "Telecaster Master" who played in Elvis Presley's band and for stars like Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Brooks & Dunn, will join the Hall of Fame in the Recording and/or Touring Musician category. John Anderson will be inducted in the Veteran Era Artist category. He got a job as a construction worker when he moved to Nashville in 1972 and was part of building the new Grand Ole Opry House. He started to see success as a singer/songwriter in the late 1970's. "Wild and Blue" was his first number one hit with "Swinging" not far behind. Toby Keith was announced as the third and final 2024 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee. Sadly, Toby died one day before he would have learned that he'd been voted into the Hall of Fame. The voting results came in the morning of February 6 - just hours after Toby died on February 5. The 2024 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees will be formally recognized during a Medallion Ceremony in October.
