It was a dream come true moment for Lainey Wilson over the weekend at CMA Fest. She joined Tim McGraw on stage during his set at Nissan Stadium for a duet version of his 1995 hit "I Like It I Love It."

She documented their meeting during rehearsals in a video on social media. "This is my childhood dream right here," she says to the camera. "Like, he don't understand how much of an influence he is to me. I made up dance routines to every song he ever had, and I might show him." The video shows Tim and Lainey sharing a hug and talking about growing up in Louisiana. She is from Baskin and Tim grew up about 30 minutes down the road in Delhi.

In her Netflix documentary, Lainey shared that as a teenager she wrote a letter to Tim asking for his help to get her foot in the door, but she never got a response. They were talking about it at CMA Fest, she told him that she probably gave it to an aunt of his. It never made it to him...until last year. Lainey was shocked when Tim gave her a response letter almost 20 years later. "I wrote you a letter back, and I wrote it as though I had gotten the letter," he tells her. "So I wrote it like had I gotten the letter back then this is what I would have said." He also revealed that he got together with Tom Douglas to write a song inspired by her letter, which he said he would send to her.
