The Red Clay Strays had a scary experience getting to the ACM Awards on Sunday.
They said on the red carpet that they "almost died" when their private jet suffered some technical difficulties. Guitarist Zach Rishel explained that part of the engine cowling flew off during takeoff. Bassist Andrew Bishop added that the jet circled above Mobile, Alabama for about two hours in order to burn enough fuel to be able to safely land. The band was able to take another plane to Las Vegas. The Red Clay Strays won Group of the Year at the ACMs.
